Cynthia Dilatush

President

After a career as a financial analyst and Commercial Lending Officer in the Construction and Real Estate Finance Department for a NYC bank, Cynthia, her husband and two children, moved to Upper Saddle River in 1997. Since then she has volunteered for a number of organizations, holding official positions including: USR Volunteer Ambulance Corps, serving as VP and fund raiser, Secretary, Lieutenant, Captain, Training Officer and Life Member. Cynthia created an EMS youth group in 2008 and chartered Exploring EMS Post 133 in 2010, which teaches EMS skills to 14-21 year olds and volunteers time to assisting USRVAC and the USR community. She continues to serve as Advisor of the Post, training youths at weekly meetings during the school year. Cynthia is also Director of S. Carol White EMS Academy, which teaches EMS skills to EMS/EMTs throughout NJ State. She was appointed member of USR Board of Health in 2013 and has served as President for four of those years. With her experience in responding to 911 calls in the community, Cynthia saw the need to do more than just respond to the immediate crisis'. She is proud to be a contributing member of USR Cares.

Mark Stephan

Treasurer

Mark Stephan is a Senior Vice President and Chief Internal Auditor for Columbia Bank. He is responsible for overseeing and managing the Internal Audit function for the Bank. Mr. Stephan has over thirty years of experience in Banking, Public Accounting, Consulting, Mortgage Banking, and Healthcare. Prior to joining Columbia Bank, Mr. Stephan served as Senior Vice President and Internal Audit Director for a Community Bank in New Jersey. Other Positions include Chief Financial Officer for a Community Bank, Controller for a Mortgage Company, Regional Auditor for a Healthcare Organization, and Senior Manager for a Consulting Firm.
Mr. Stephan is a graduate of Clemson University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Financial Management. He received a Masters of Business Administration in Accounting from Fairleigh Dickinson University and is a Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Fraud Examiner, Certified Information Systems Auditor, Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist, Certified Internal Controls Auditor, Certified Risk Management Assurance, Certified Fiduciary Investment Risk Specialist and Accredited Investment Fiduciary.
Mr. Stephan and his Wife Victoria reside in Upper Saddle River and have four children.

Amy Fisherman

Recording Secretary

Amy has lived in Upper Saddle River since 2001. She lives with her husband and two sons, ages 13 and 15. She has been active in the community as a past board member of the JCO and is currently an active member of the USR Board of Health. Amy is a Certified Nurse Midwife and works for St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center. She has joined the board of the USR Cares organization because she values helping others and understands the importance of a strong supportive community.

Kay Yeomans

Vice President of By Laws & Community Liaison

Kay moved into Upper Saddle River with her husband in 1973. She first attended a Junior Women’s Club meeting and that was the beginning of a lifelong involvement in Upper Saddle River community activities. She served two terms on the Recreation Commission. She was the Juniors’ representative to the Bicentennial Committee and worked on the collection of oral histories and helped with the Bicentennial Cookbook. She was one of the founding members of the Upper Saddle River Historical Society. She recruited local organizations to help create the SRV Cultural Center. Kay also served on the USR Volunteer Ambulance Corps. She is also a member of the Upper Saddle River Branch of the Valley Hospital Auxiliary and became the president in 2000. She is also on the Board of Trustees of the Valley Hospital. Kay has always felt that Upper Saddle River is an amazing community that cares about the people who live here and attributes this as her reason for joining USR Cares.

Amy Fuchs

Vice President of Community Outreach

Amy Fuchs has been a resident of Upper Saddle River for 13 years. She resides with her husband, her 13 year old son and her 11 year old daughter. Amy is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Aging Life Care Specialist. She founded TheElder Expert, LLC in 2008, and provides care management services for seniors and their families within her community. Amy has joined the USR Cares board because she is looking forward to continuing to help the residents of Upper Saddle River.

Sharon Reissman

Vice President of Fundraising

Sharon has lived in Upper Saddle River for 25 years. She is married and has two boys, ages 16 and 20. She has been active in the local community as a founding member of the JCO and the USR Educational Foundation, where she served as President. Last year she became membership chair of the Woman's Club and worked to bring over 50 new members. She was also co-chair of Team USR, a health & wellness initiative incorporating a Health Fair & over 100 classes. She is joining the board of USR Cares because she believes community building and fundraising enhance our community. Her mother and father were active in their communities and guided her as to how to be an integral part of the community where you live.

Sheila Yallowitz

Vice President of Care Resources

Sheila has lived in our community for 15 years. She is married and has 3 children, ages 13, 18 and 22. She has many years of experience volunteering with our schools and our community. She has an MD, as well as a Masters in Public Health. She brings her medical experience with her in her volunteerism. Sheila is currently on the Board of Education at Northern Highlands Regional High School, serving her second term. Sheila has the qualifications of a professional, the experience of a parent, and the dedication to our community that will serve USR Cares well. She has a passion and a sincere commitment to issues in our community and will represent the community well in important decision-making.

Leah Halpern

Founding President

Leah takes philanthropy seriously. Leah served six years as President of a local nonprofit charitable organization called the JCO of Bergen County. During these years, she was involved in numerous charitable events including raising funds quickly for disasters, supporting local families in tragedy, while also promoting countless local charities such as the Center for Food Action, Habitat for Humanity, Jewish Family Services, Make A Wish Foundation, Oasis, to name a few. Leah saw a constant need for a centralized place for residents to contact when they were in crisis. Many of the town organizations want to help, and USR Cares is a way to unite them, and be efficient with the support. Leah Halpern founded USR Cares because of this need. Leah lives in Upper Saddle River for 14 years, with her 3 children, ages 14, 15, and 16. Her husband is President of the Upper Saddle River Volunteer Ambulance Corps.

Allen Ghorashi, DDS

Vice President of Operations

Allen has been a resident of Upper Saddle River since 1998. He lives with his wife and two children. His wife was raised in Upper Saddle River. He was a member of the USR Educational Foundation and held board positions there for many years. Allen says that he believes in our town and is willing to help the town in any way possible. He works as a dentist in Ramsey.

Evan Casalino, NHRHS Student

Junior Board Member

Having experienced the generosity of the people of Upper Saddle River firsthand, Evan is excited to be a member of the Board of USR Cares so that he can help extend that same generosity to others. He feels that Upper Saddle River is a community that has a lot to offer in the way of support and resources for those who need it most. As a senior at Northern Highlands Regional High School, he plans to use his connections to the school to involve more students/young people in this effort.

Gene Laporiere
USR Town Appointee

Gene is the Chief Financial Officer of Upper Saddle River. He is also a member of the Lion’s Club.  He has received the Presidents Outstanding Service Award from the Lion’s Club.

Terrence Corriston, ESQ
Legal Counsel

Terry has lived in Upper Saddle River for 18 years. He lives here with his wife and family. Terry has had three children graduate from Northern Highlands. He was a valuable member of USR Educational Foundation for many years. He currently practices law in Hackensack.

William Katchen, CPA
Contracted Accountant

William specializes in accounting and tax preparation services. His solo practice is located in Cliffside Park.
